Wine has been a passion of the owner, Ernie Olfe, ever since his graduation from the Chicago Wine School. The store reflects this in its varied selection of fine wines from Germany, France, Italy, Australia, South America and, of course, California. Some of the labels include: Silver Oak, Duckhorn, Frogs Leap and Opus One. The Merlots and Red Zinfandels include such vineyards as Dry Creek, Ridge, Storybook Mountain, Spring Mountain, and Keenan. The Chardonnays include Mersoliel, Landmark, Cakebread and Beringer Private Reserve.

Cardinal Wine and Spirits has packed in a number of imported and microbrewed beers. The microbrews range from Bells Brewery in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Dogfish Head in Delaware. The imported beers range from Youngs and Samuel Smith from England to over 25 different beers from Germany and Belgium.

Cardinal Wine and Spirits has recently expanded its selection of single malt scotches, single barrel bourbons, upscale tequilas and super premium vodkas.

Cardinal Wine and Spirits has a wide range of cigars including Gloria Cubana, Cohiba, Ashton Kabinett, and 8 types of Macanudo all at very competitive prices from 75 cents to $12.99 each.
